On Tuesday, Ismael introduced the class to Google Earth. He showed students how to navigate
on the different axes (i.e., panning, zooming, and tilting) using a number of different
methods (i.e., hand tool, control buttons, scroll wheel). In addition, he demonstrated some
of the less obvious features of Google Earth, such as placemarks, measuring, directions, 3D
buildings, and ways to find information related to places (i.e., the Wikipedia, elevation,
and population data layers).
To review all of this information, Ismael handed out a scavenger hunt that took students
around the world in Google Earth, searching for information.
