This workshop was called Modeling Your World with Music. This workshop was taught at NLCA by
James Broadnax, Patricia Jacobs, and Jonathon Stuart-Moore. NLCA broke their students up into
2 groups. The first group was pre-k to 2nd grade while the other group was 3rd-5th graders.
For the first couple of days with the younger students, we went over the basics of sound and
music such as, what are sound waves. Another subject we talked about with the younger students
is how the sound waves are turned into sound by the ear and the brain.
With the older students the first couple of days we basically did the same thing. The
explanation of the information were age appropriate to make sure that they understood what was
going on.
