The instructor discussed probability - how likely it is for an event to occur. Students discussed what they are highly unlikely to see outside their bedroom window and what they are most likely to see. Students were given questions like "what is the probability of choosing a vowel from the alphabet" and "If a number from 1 to 11 is chosen at random what is the probability of choosing an odd number". Students worked with the spinner applet in Interactivate. The instructors also discussed theoretical probability and experimental probability. The students worked with the coin toss applet and discussed the experimental vs. theoretical probability of getting heads vs. tails.
