The instructor began the class by discussing a liquid vs. a solid. Students gave examples of
liquids and solids. The instructor asked the students if they knew of any liquid that behaved
like a solid and vice versus. Students watched a video of how oobleck is made and how it
reacts when force is applied. Then the students made oobleck using cornstarch, water and food
coloring. The students were able to see how oobleck acts like a liquid but at times behave
like a solid.
