In continuing to teach the students about forensic science, we explored how to observe
properties of unknown liquids in order to aid in identification of a person or object. We used
orange juice, lemon juice, vinegar, bleach, and ammonia. We looked at appearance, smell of the
liquids and we tested them with a pH strip to test acidity, observing the color change on the
strip.
