The following reports were written by members of Forensic Science during the second day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

In today's class we did made a very large Stella model of hog waste in the Neuse River. It was frustrating because my model had an error and didn't work, but was too big to debug in the time we had. We also did some really cool visualization using Scion.

Today's class was very intersting and challenging. We had to create Stella models showing the waste distribution for the Neuse River, which travels from New Bern to the Pamlico Sound, where the waste is held until it can be released from the barrier islands. Overall, I liked today's class, and I hope that tomorrow's is as exciting or better.

Today I did some things I've never did before: I learned how to create a complex model with the Stella program. The model was about the Nouse River's water pollution, and it worked well. After all this hard work, it was fun and very interesting to see the graphic results of the job. Our teacher is starting to learn italian, too... Ciao.

Today's class was interesting also. I enjoyed it more though because the Stella models were more complicated. At each step we made them more complicated. The best part was when we used Scion Image software to look at our table, in different ways.

Today was ok. I finally got the hang of Stella even though my model still did not come out right. It was still fun. I am looking forward to the next day

Today I was once again impressed with the abilities of STELLA. I had never used an array in a model; even though I had tried to play with them before, I didn't know how to use them. Hugh and I are thinking about what kind of projects we can do, and now that we've used Scion for visualization, we think that would be cool to use, too. Visualization seems like an incredible skill that I would like to learn more about. As a helper in this class, I think our class is pretty good at catching on to the new concepts and skills of STELLA, and I am impressed with them. I really think that being able to have a computer per person really helps students understand, since that way they can actually be engaged in the model at all times. When one person does all the computer work (building, typing, etc.), it becomes very easy for the other student to stop paying attention.

It was kinda fun when we did art, the the rest was boring becuse I dislike Stella but it was okay. Lunch and break are fun. Sorry my words are running short.
