Today, Ismael talked about some basic concepts of design. Specifically, he laid down a set of guidelines for what makes a good website. After we discussed these guidelines, students again searched the web, looking for examples of these principles. They had to present to each other the sites they had found and explain why they were good or bad, based on the principles. Finally, students used paper and pencil to sketch designs for their own sites by hand. Next week, they start to learn HTML so that they can create the sites they sketched.
