The students started out learning about different ways to talk to people over the internet. They discussed the benefits of instant messaging compared to just e-mailing people. They also learned about the history of instant messaging and e-mail. Ryan and Monte talked to them about how messages get through to other users on other computers and how to use iChat. After a detailed lesson on messages and instant messages. They then went to their computers and tried instant messaging on iChat on their own. They chatted with each other until snack.

When they came back inside there was a table in the middle of the room. On the table there were all the materials needed for making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Monte then instructed the students to make an elaborate protocol for making a PB and J sandwich. Then Monte told them that the instructions had to be very precise. Ryan and Monte then told them that they had to make them precise enough for the new enhanced computer, the Super Scott 3000 would be able to take the instructions and make a sandwich. After they brought the Super Scott 3000(Michael) in to test they soon realized that they had made some flaws. After a few changes they finally got Super Scott 3000 to make a perfect sandwich but they still forgot to tell it to close the top of the peanut butter and jelly.
