The class started off their afternoon with a quick discussion on Daphnia, a small organism, and its food algae. At one point Kent brought out a jar of algae to show the class exactly what green liquid looks like; a student remarked: “It looks like Kool-aid!” The class then turned their attention to how to model what they had just discussed. Once again, STELLA was the tool of the trade and the class commenced in making, yet another, stellar model.

After an extensive amount of STELLA modeling, the class moved on to model the Daphnia, algae correlation with a new modeling tool, Net Logo. They spent the rest of the class learning how to use Net Logo.
