Today in class, Dave discussed the concept of rotational speed and its effect among matter in various galaxies. Each student was told that dark matter rotating within the outer portion of a galaxy has a greater speed while dark matter rotating within the inner portion of a galaxy has a lower speed. Dave mentioned that other factors such as density and mass affect an object, such as dark matter's rotational speed. Dave told the class to access the RotCurve Applet where each student was given the option to alter various variables for dark matter such as the halo central density of dark matter, the halo core radius of dark matter and the disc to light ratio of dark matter. In doing so each student was able to see how these factors affected dark matter's rotational speed.

Dave also went on to discuss the concept of the black hole theory. According to Dave, most scientists believe that blackholes are present within numerous galaxies.Dave then introduced to the class group projects. The class are to divide themselves into groups and research information pertaining to Astronomy and Astrophysics.
