Dave started the class by introducing various topics that will be discussed throughout the week. Such topics Dave mentioned included the black hole theory, gravity and the solar system. Dave then went on to break the ice by playing the name game and going over the rules. He reviewed mathematical concepts such as scientific notation before discussing various concepts about the solar system.

Dave started to discuss the solar system by comparing the earth to the sun, moon, and other planets in terms of mass, radius and temperature. He then went on to discuss the difference between asteroids and comets.

Next, Dave discussed concepts involving galaxies and the stars within them. He started the discussion by talking about the nearest star to the earth, which in this case is the Alpha Centari. He then went into depth to discuss the various galaxies within space such as Adromena and the Milky Way.

During the second half of class Allyson discussed the concept of gravity. By dropping an eraser, she showed that gravity was acting upon it. Allyson then went on to explain how gravity acts within the solar system. Allyson allowed the class to access a program called Galaxsee where students were able to input necessary data such as mass, velocity and position to see how various objects interact in space. to each other in space.
