A science park for Durham: Phase 2
Phase 2 involves a capital campaign to purchase the building and land at 923 Broad, as well as the adjacent buildings and properties immediately adjacent and to the south on Broad Street (culiminating at South Ellerbee Creek).
Once purchased, the buildings at 921 and 917 would either be removed or renovated for use as student classrooms and research areas. More significantly, the land behind the two houses would be landscaped for use as scientific research areas, with an emphasis on environmental sciences. A recreation and picnic area would also be developed for use by Shodor students, scientists, and guests.
