Today, Robert was the instructor and he taught the students how to build a model on AgentSheets by explaining how to edit behaviors and depictions. He gave the students many opportunities to brainstorm ideas for the model. At the beginning of class they reviewed a systems model they made from yesterday that was about people sitting down and the boss standing up. The students could see a code by seeing this model as numbers rather than looking at it as people sitting or standing. Their theory was that as time goes by the numbers go from least to greatest. After, they went on to a project about the princess and the frog, which they worked on in AgentSheets. Like the story of the princess and the frog, when the princess kisses the frog, the frog turns into a prince. This occurs when the frog is near the princess in the model using a chain of actions. Also there was a witch in the story that turned the prince into a frog, so whenever the witch touches the prince it will turn back into a frog. There were five agents: princess, prince, frog, world, and witch. The witch and the princess move randomly across the world and the prince just stays still turning into a frog or the frog turning into a prince. The students worked with each other and listened to each opinion of what they wanted to do. In the end, they were all able to complete a working model of this fairytale.
