The following reports were written by members of Engineering in Training, Session A during the third day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Today we made wax beams. Ours was the first one to have wax poured in it. We also tried to figure out what the Moment of Inertia has to do with how strong the beam is. Later, we made boxes by cutting out squares, which was not that important because we can calculate that using math. But this is a great class with great instructors.

Otis

I enjoyed today's class for several reasons. First, the activities were interesting and I especially liked designing and making our wax beams. However, I got frustrated when the legos continued to fall apart. Also we did not run out of snacks like we did in the morning. Finally, I thought it was better when we got to choose our own partners and I saw no problems come up.

Jasmine

I had a great time doing wax models. I don't have any suggestions. It was a great class!

Noah

Today was cool. We made wax blocks but stuck stacks of legos in them to make holes. Tommorrow we will see how strong they are. I think I will win.

Trokon

Today I had a great time making a wax bridge.

Evan

It gets more interesting everyday. Today, it was more interactive.

Nick

Today we did three things. The first thing that we did was to go onto the computers to plan our two beams. After that, we built the frames with legos to mold the wax to make our beams. Last, we made open boxes. I had a lot of fun today. I can't wait for tommorrow.

Ben

I had a good time making bridges.

Brittanie

I had a good time doing the projects. I am a more hands on person. I would like to do more projects during the week.

Nimra

We made beams out of wax. To make the shape of the beam we used legos. It turned out that the legos weren't staying together very well, so we used tape. But once we put the hot wax on the legos, the tape started coming off. Then the legos started breaking apart. It stayed together pretty well though.

Nedra

Today was great; I had absolutely no problems today. Mr. Love is very nice and straight to the point.

David

I liked the lego wax designing, except there weren't enough legos and the legos were too waxy. I liked how we got to choose our groups.
