The following reports were written by members of Astronomy and Astrophysics class during the second day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Today was awesome lots of theoretical stuff , which is the most fun part of astronomy and astrophysics. I think the more we interact and try to think abstractly we learn better.

Today was a fun day at camp. I personnally expanded my knowledge of galaxies and black holes. I especially enjoyed viewing X-ray pictures of Cygnus X-1.

There were only two things I didn't like today. These were when we tried to model the interstellar medium, and when we were trying to find various pictures of galaxies that had X-ray activity in them. The reason I didn't like them was simply the tedium and the trial-and-error approach.

Today in class we learned how to determine distance from the color of stars. I think it was interesting because there were so many uses for the magnetic spectrum. The skills I am learning on computers are going to be very useful to me.
