Day 2
In the first part of the class, Ebonee introduced the basics of the NetLogo modeling program. After a few hours of basic training, the students were ready for more complex programs. She introduced a program that would make a line travel though a medium of two objects separated at a given distance. The way the students did the program is that they made two objects one in each side. One was a square and one was a triangle. A button was later added to make a simulated ray travel from the square through the empty space that was in the middle and touch the triangle. Gokul and Luke were helping as Ebonee taught the class. Some other assistants also helped Ebonee.
In the second part of the class, Ebonee again introduced the same program, this time, only to answer any questions the students had. Later, Gokul taught some of the class while Luke answered questions about the program. After the first break, the students took a short break while the instructors prepared the next assignment, another NetLogo program. This one was more complicated. This program was about the manipulation of a city that was susceptible to get sick. At the end of the day, the students had a basic understanding of the NetLogo program.
