Candid Student Reports

The following reports were written by members of Math and Science Explorations during the second day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Shalom Ham

I learned about what kinds of math names and what they do.

Grace Ham

I learned about how many words can mean the same thing in English and Mathematics. I liked the way that found so many words that can go both ways. It was exciting.

Jared Reeve

Today we worked on the chaos theory. These laptops are awesome. I shudder to think of all the calculations it does. We used these a lot. I wish I had one of these in my room.

Matthew Starks

Well today was an very interesting day. I learned a lot about the number of math terms that are used in everyday english, and I learned things about chaos and prisoners and escapees. It was a good learning experince.

Malachi Evans

I didn't know learning could be this fun until I came here.We learn words that are use in math and everyday conversation. We also learned about Choas wich is A Dynamical system that has a sensitive dependence on it's initial conditional. It sounds boring but is really fun when there's games to play for it.I learn alot and look foward to next session.

Graeme Durovich

I think today was really fun! We thought of words that are used in Mathematics and normal English. We learned about the words limit, chaos, prisoner, escapee, similar, and sequence in Mathematical context.
