Candid Student Reports

The following (emails) were written by members of the Modeling Your World during the first session of the program. Some elements may have been removed for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

 
Today we learned about bad ozone.  It is caused
by VOC, CO, and NOX.

Today was fun at the begginig, we went outside 
intead of being outside as ussual. We did the 
same thing all three hours so by the end I was 
just plain BORED.

Today in Modeling Your World we learned (outside)
about the ozone and how it effects different 
layers of the earth.  We tried to study the long 
term effects using Storm.  I had fun and learned 
some also.

Today was a boring day I hope we have a better 
day tomorrow.  we were  kinda confused.

Today we modeled air quality in our area with 
some internet programs and excel.  We didn't do 
much else because the modeling took a long time.

Today we studyed air quaility and put it through 
graphs, spreadsheets, and the net.  We used the 
computer STORM to process the information along 
with other data it had collected from other 
sources.

Today we talked about air outside.  One of the 
grand things we talked about was pollution in 
the air.  Then we went inside did some test on 
the computer on pollution.  We had break and 
kept on doing test and learning about the poll-
ution in the air.
We had FUN!

Today was fun we did alot of things like make 
modles out of balls and then we talked about 
the ozone and Nitric Oxide, VOC's, and CO2.  
I liked everyting but @ the end the last 5 min. 
were starting to get boring but everyting else 
was very fun.
