Candid Student Reports

The following (emails) were written by members of the Math Explorations, Session C during the first day of the program. Some elements may have been removed for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

I felt that it was helpful and
I learned a lot. I thought it was
helpful that we were able to apply
formulas problems usally tested by
simple trial and error. It was
interesting to find out that how
things that seemed so easy were
actually impossible. It was also
a fun way to approach graph theory
and learn a lot about that subject.
It was a well taught class.
I felt it was a good class.

-Chris

Today we learned how to use Excel
to put different information into an
ozganized way so that we could use
it to figure out the problems that
we had. It was very fun, so fun I
would donate money to do it again!

-Dominique

In today class we learned alot
about patterns in math. We learned
about Euler's circuits and paths.
The instructors forgot their alphabet.
It was alot of fun!

-Jabeen

I thought this afternoon was
boring because I learned
nothing, but got with my typing
skills.

-Antonio

This is a very good program.
The teachers thought me things
in math that I thought were
completly impossible. I
ecspecially liked the close
enviroment [exept it was a
little HHHOOOTTT!

-Oliver

I REALLY HAD FUN DOING PATTERNS
AND PROBLEMS. I LEARNED,THAT IF A
OBJECT HAS 3 OR MORE ODD POINTS
YOU CAN NOT DRAW IT WITHOUT
PICKING UP YOUR PENCIL.

-Tiara

We learned about patterns
and making equations into graphs.
We also learned that it is impossible
to have a map that needs more than 4 colors to
make no colors touch. I had fun and learned too.

-Lilah

I had a good time with math.
All the other thing. the kid
were nice,
and we had a lot of fun.

-Timothy

I had a good time today learning
new thing about math. I liked doing
different math patterns on the
internet today.
