Ireland: DCU 2013

March 12-13

Shodor returned to Dublin City University in early March for another workshop designed to give educators a deeper understanding of computational thinking and inquiry-based teaching methods in science education. Previous workshops with DCU were focused on in-service and pre-service teachers. This year's workshop was focused on introducing teacher educators to computational thinking and how it can be used to promote inquiry in students.

Participants were introduced to hands-on activities to explore blended learning environments. The workshop looked at the use of dynamic models in classroom settings and the benefits of students building their own models to understand underlying concepts.

Noyce PI's who participated in the workshop can be found here.
