Resources

Shodor offers a variety of dynamic, computational tools that can be used to teach computational thinking. Because these resources are free and web-based , they are available to teachers and students outside of the workshops. The resources are grouped by education level below:

Middle and High School

Interactivate
This is a popular set of interactive online materials for math and science education for grades 3 through 12.

SUCCEED Curriculum
A collection of activities and lesson plans adapted from Shodor's own workshops that incorporate computational elements into math and science explorations.

Computational Chemistry
North Carolina's high school chemistry students and teachers have free access to a dedicated research-level computer that supports advanced computing in chemistry (now maintained by the NC School of Science and Mathematics).

High School and Undergraduate

The Computational Science Education Reference Desk (CSERD)
Shodor is one of the leading institutions charged with providing the scientific content for the National Science Digital Library (NSDL). Shodor develops and maintains CSERD as a peer reviewed resource in computational science education.

Master Tools
Online software for mathematical and scientific modeling.

Petascale
Materials to support the teaching and use of parallel and high-performance scientific computing in the undergraduate science classroom.

High Performance Computing University (HPCU)
A virtual organization whose primary goal is to provide an on-line environment to share educational and training materials for high performance computing environments

Specialized Education Tools

DEAF STEM
Online lessons and activities with corresponding sign language videos for hearing impaired students and their instructors.

Braille through Remote Learning
