Today, we began with a short review of the rules and a reiteration of the expectations. We
also took time to review the concepts related to system dynamics. At 10:30, Dr. Panoff set up
a video chat with Dan Warner, a Mathematics Professor at Clemson University. Before lunch, we
discussed Vensim in depth, focusing on the pharmacology model. After lunch, Dr. Panoff let the
students through an advanced physics model using Vensim.
The students reaction to the material was highly varied. Those interested in physics and
pharmacology seemed to enjoy the day greatly. On the other hand, those who have more interest
in Biology were disappointed, and seemed to "zone-out" early on.
