The workshop started with a challenge: guess the number of candies inside a container. The students gathered around to examine the jar, how full it was, the approximate size of the candies as well as the dimensions of the jar itself. Then, by taking all this information into account, the students each made an estimate as to the number of candies inside the jar. By using the Interactivate Estimator application, the students learned how to fine-tune their estimations and become more accurate in their estimations. Once the students had fine tuned their decision abilities and refined their initial estimates Jenny and Alexandra let the students in on a trick. By averaging all of the class' individual rough estimates together, the resulting value was closer to the actual number of candies in the jar than any one single estimate.

After a short break, the students formed groups based on their favorite lessons of the week. Using computer tools such as PowerPoint and Google search tools, the students created presentations detailing what they had learned, what they want to learn more about, and other applications of the skills and material from their respective days. Once every group presented their work, each student filled out their last reflection for the workshop and spent the remainder of their time talking with Jenny, Alexandra, and Ian about concepts from the week's lessons.
