Today, Steven's assistant, Neal, came to teach the class how to make a web banner using Inkscape. He first explained that Inkscape worked with scalable vector graphics instead of bitmap images, making logos the same no matter what the size. The class learned how to build a web banner by creating a background color with a gradient, creating decorated text, and making a personal, unique drawing. The students learned terminology such as bitmap and scalable vector images, and learned how to use a SVG editor. After this class, each student had a web banner that they would put on their personal website in the next workshop.
