In this class, students learned about functions, functions notation, and terminology. They also learned about the best and fastest algorithm to discover a function.
Tiago used several Interactivate applets to teach the students about functions. The Whole Number Cruncher, Number Cruncher, Positive Linear Function Machine, and Linear Function Machine were used to help the students understand and discover the best algorithm to be used when finding out what the function is based on an outputs and inputs table. The GraphIt and Slope Slider applets helped the students to better visualize what happens when the slope variable or a constant variable is changed.
