The following reports were written by members of Internet Science Explorations during the fourth day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Today was very fun because of every thing we did. Today we had to make a web site with a partner. Are web page was not as good as it could be, but it was pretty good. Also today we had a video confrince with a profetional scientest. It was very fun and we asked a lot of queistions. But this week we learned how to make a web site how rouders work and how the DNS works. I have had a very fun time.

I had a good time working in shodor. We learned about how packets take small parts out of like a piture of a chiar it takes small parts and puts it together. If no parts come it will not work, but if even the littlest of pieces come the rest will eventually come. We talked about routers. When you go to cnn.com the routers tell your computer the quickest way to get to cnn.com. We created web pages and we had lots of fun with that today Anosh my partner for today was extremly nice to me .Katie was one of my best friends at shodor. I had a good time this week and I will next to. Bye-Bye. For now?

Mauricio

This week I learned many things like about how the internet has to go through a process to get a website. Also we leaarned how two computers send documents to each other and hiow they de code each othere messages. We also learned about false wed sites and good and bad structure about web sites. We also learned different ways to communicate to different people like through I chat and AOL instant messenger and we also even did a vidio conference. We then learneddifferent search engines and how to search for different things and words you can use when your searching, and Google spiders and hiow they search the internet. We made a web site at the end of the week also.

Anosh

After this week I am much more confident in what you can do on the internet. I have learned html and wysiwyg. Now I know how to make a web site and make it actually work. Now I can understand the way a search engine works, I know that it takes the keywords of your search and uses them to find any web site with the words. I have learned now that when you want to go to a web site the first thing your computer does is send the web site to a DNS. DNS finds the ip number to the site after this it sends the web site in packets (tiny bits of information) and they fit together on your screen. As you can see I have learned allot and I loved this workshop.

this week i learned that science can be use even more than i thought.io also learned that the interns are active with just like threer active with us. MONDAY: mondsay was the strangest day most be cause it was my fisrt ever and i had some getting used to. TUESDAY: WAS EVEN STRANGERthen monday because tueesday i went to the ise class and i had even more people to get used to. WEDNESDAY: wednesday was i dont really dont remember what we did but i do recall doing a search actiivity on the web and it was in a group THURSDAY: i have nothing to say because i wasnt it here FRIDAY: WHICH IS AT THE TIME TODAY WAS O.K WE TAALKED TO SCIENCETIST THROUGH VIDEO TRASMISSIONS.

I liked this camp and would come back again. I liked how computers work and how the vidio confreces I liked the web pages better than anything else. I like the way we use the internet with chat. I liked the reflections to do new people.

Katie

I have learned so much about the Internet like DNS servers, and how a computer will ask the DNS servers if this webpage is real. I learned how to do HTML and how to make my own webpage. I saw a video conference which was awesome. I learned alot about how you can comunicate though the Internet. I made some really cool friends and I am really gonna miss them because some of them are not coming back next week like me. I learned about routers and about how packets of information make up a website. I learned about google spiders and how they only know about maybe a tenth of the whole Internet. The spiders check out links. I learned ab out Boolean Algerbra which is what that all search engines use. I learned so many cool things! This was so fun. I can't wait to come back next week.
