It is sadly the last day of Environmental Science. They were asked if they would rather be paid by doubling a penny each day or $100 per hour. They also worked with Daphnia.

After the students got back from the break they work on a peppered moth simulation. It was showing how natural selection basically worked. The students were the blue jays and they had to find and eat as many moths as possible. The moths were peppered and black. The background is peppered, so the harder ones to find are the black ones, so the kids had to try to find them to live. The game gradually gets harder and harder to play. They record the percentage levels of the moths. Then they switch the background to black and test what would happen. Soon they calculate the averages.

It is the end of the class and it is time for the kids to fill out reports, evaluation sheets, get T-shirts and take a group picture.
