The following (emails) were written by members of the Astronomy and Astrophysics, Summer 2000 during the third day of the program. Some elements may have been removed for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

We learned a variety of things today. The first thing we learned was Astrochemistry. It is sort of interesting. Then, we did some Stellar Interiors. It takes a while to get used to doing all of the equations, but I got the hang of it. The Interstellar Medium is a fun thing to learn about.

Near the end of the day we did a project dealing with Planetary Data. We ahd to use a spreadsheet to get all of the information into graph form. I really enjoyed today's class.

Doing the stellar evolution models on STELLA were really fun and challenging. looking at the dust molecules and how they help catalyst, the formation of hydrogen molecules was also pretty interesting. Creating charts with planetary data provided a lot of information but was easy and kind of boring. But overall, it was fun

Today we did a lot of things. We studied stellar interiors, interstellar medium, astrochemistry, and planetary data. It was really challenging and I learned a lot. I really liked making a model in Stella of the process inside the sun.

In today's class I learned new and challenging things. I learned about the interstellar medium, and about the planets. I also learned about DUST!! One of the interesting things that we did was to use stella to explore the PPchain. This showed the primary source of energy ina solar mass star. I really enjoyed today's class

Learned about stellar interior and planetary data. also did astrochemistry. challenging, but I understood it in the end.

Today we learned about the insides of stars, using a neat program called stellar. Then we used Excel to make grafts using data from different planets. Today was really cool and I really thought using the program stellar was neat. We also learned about interstellar dust and how it helps catalyze reactions to form complex molecules in space.

The activity that I liked best today was working with Stella & making the models for the school & the star. It was kind of confusing with all the different arrows, but it was fun anyways, and I learned something. I also liked making the graphs for the relationship between different kinds of data about the different planets and their distances from the sun.
