Candid Student Reports

The following (emails) were written by members of the Saturday Explorations Club during the fifth session of the program. Some elements may have been removed for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Today was a lot of fun because we got to do 
masterminds and Decode de Code on the net.  
They were both kinda hard but fun.  The 
Decode de Code was the hardest.  It took 
me a long time to decode it.

Ryan

Today we explored algorithms. An algorithm
is the steps you take to do somthing. Like the 
directions exept in more detail.  We did a 
thing called Mastermind. Where the computer 
picked a number,and with the information it 
gave us we had to try to guess that number. 
We found with a certin   Algorithm it was 
easier.  We also did a thing called Decode 
de code.  The computer gave us a phrase 
from a scientist  and we had to decode the 
phrase.  We also enjoyed eating pizza.:) 
 I had a great time with all the activitys 
we did today. :)  :( :/

Our favorite exploration today was when 
we played a game called 'decode the toad', 
a game which requiers a lot of decuctional 
thinking (we also enjoyed the pizza). The 
computer gives you a code to, well...decode.
It's a lot of fun! We had a swell' day.
