The students started out by introducing themselves to one another, and Bob1 gave them the layout of the course, the rules and what SUCCEED stands for. Later they learned about various types of mathematical patterns. Some of the patterns were more complicated than others, but the students managed to work their way through them. Then they went on to network analysis which is finding how many nodes are in graphs, letters of the alphabet were used as an example.

In the network analysis, each student was asked to write out all the letters of the alphabet and count how many nodes were in each letter as well as how many even and odd nodes there were. Then Bob1 challanged the students to see which letters of the alphabet they could write in print without picking up their pencils. This was to see if the number of even and odd nodes corrosponded to whether they could draw it without lifting their pencils or not.

At the end of class, they discussed what they learned, and completed their day by experimenting with designs made on Microsoft Word. To end they experimented with how many colors were needed on a map for the different regions to not border each other with the same color.
