The class started out with Bethany giving a lesson on sequences. She asked the students questions that allowed them to make conclusions about how to make Excel do basic math calculations. Some students had trouble making Excel do what they want wanted to do because they were typing in the wrong column. Students seemed to enjoy the activity though. Bethany slowly allowed the students to make Excel work for them. The students worked on their own to make Excel compute five problems that were given to them by Bethany.

The students and Bethany then moved to Netscape and visited the Interactivate website. Bethany explained to the students about the original Tortoise and the Hare. After that, the students went to Canton's Cone to show the demonstration as the tortoise and the hare.

Later that day the class learned that recursion is a style when something is done over and over again. The class then proceeded to Canton's Comb web page to see recursion in action. Finally, the students went to the "Sierpenski's Triangle" activity to learn about number sequences.
