Candid Student Reports

The following (emails) were written by members of the Math Explorations, Session A during the fifth day of the program. Some elements may have been removed for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Today is my last day here at this camp. It was
fun even though I woke up late. We did some fun
things with ropes like tying quick bows. Then,
we cut a circle into 8 triangles and made a
funny shape that we measured. We all recieved a
shirt and certificates and took a group picture.
This camp was a lot more fun than I expected.

Edren

Today was the last day for math explorations we
worked on Knot theory, and the properties on a
circle. I was expecting a big bang to our math
lesson today but that is o.k..

Talman and Robert

Today was the last day of Math Explorations. We
looked into the "Knot Theory" and did several
interesting activities with ropes. After our break,
we found pi through geometry (before, we had used
probability). Overall, the camp was a fun and
interesting morning activity.

Ben and Mike

Today we talked about codes, knots, and different
ways of calculating the circumference of a circle.
The kids we interacted and collaberated with this
week were really nice and we liked getting a chance
to meet new kids. This week was really fun and we
want to come back sometime.

Sophia and Ruth

Today was the last day of math explorations. I had
fun. I liked the knot activity a lot.

Ryan

Today I had fun doing the rope activity. I thought it
was fun. Today is not my last day Because I'm here
all next week too.
