Polar Coordinates (Discussion)
A discussion about what the polar coordinate system is and how to graph a point in this system.
Spinner (Activity)
Create a game spinner with one to twelve sectors in order to look at experimental and theoretical probabilities. Parameters: Number of sectors, number of trials.
Sample triangle drawn on a coordinate grid for use with the Ordered Simple Plot Activity (http://www.shodor.org/interactivate/activities/OrderedSimplePlot/).
Advanced Monty Hall (Activity)
Choose one of N doors to experimentally determine the odds of winning the grand prize behind one of the doors, as in the TV program "Let's Make a Deal." Parameters: Number of doors, number of trials, staying or switching between the two remaining doors.
Introduces students to concepts of transformations.
Rabbits and Wolves (Activity)
Experiment with a simple ecosystem consisting of grass, rabbits, and wolves, learning about probabilities, chaos, and simulation.
Caesar Cipher II (Activity)
Encode and decode messages to determine the form for an affine cipher. Input a message to encode, then input your guesses for the constant and multiplier. Caesar Cipher II is one of the Interactivate assessment explorers.
This worksheet is for use with the Advanced Monty Hall activity (http://www.shodor.org/interactivate/activities/AdvancedMontyHall/).
Sample figure drawn on a coordinate grid for use with Ordered Simple Plot Activity (http://www.shodor.org/interactivate/activities/OrderedSimplePlot/).
