Today was my final day in the Apprenticeship Program. I presented the work I have done over the summer. I will miss the fellow apprentices I will not see again, and I hope to come back to Shodor as an intern.

August 13th, 2015

I continued to work on my General Store. In the morning, I focused on hacking "The X-Man Xia's" website. I continued to do this until he got very mad. Later, I made my quantity decrease on my website. I then proceeded to fix a few bugs in my site. Finally, I started working on an order history. I hope it is finished by tomorrow, but I don't think it will be.

August 12th, 2015

I continued to work on my General Store. I made my admin page secure. I worked on my login page as well. It is now finished. The only thing I have left is getting the quantity to reduce for each specific customer, and order history. I will also have a mentor meeting with Phil tomorrow, to sign-off on part of my stipend form.

August 11th, 2015

I continued to work on my General Store. I finished my admin page. I worked on my login page as well. I worked hard, but I was not able to get much finished. I worked on my login page but now, instead of accepting anyone, it does not accept anybody. I think I will be able to finish it tomorrow though.

August 10th, 2015

I continued to work on my General Store. I was not able to finish my admin page, but came very close. I will almost definitely finish my admin page tomorrow. That leaves order history, fixing my login page, and having my stock reduce. I think I will be finished by Friday. Hopefully, my presentation goes well.

August 5th, 2015

I continued to work on my general store today. I worked on my admin page. It is not completely done yet. As I said in my last blog, I hope to be finished with my admin page by my Monday blog. I worked, but was not able to get a lot of work done today since I left early.

August 4th, 2015

I continued to work on my general store today. I worked on my admin page, and worked on my register page. It now remembers users after they have signed up, and tells you if you have not entered the necessary information. I hope to be finished with my admin page by my Monday blog. Other than that I made a new page on my new website. It's an orange color scheme.

August 3rd, 2015

Today was the first day of the fourth and final block. I continued to work on my general store. I made a cart. You can view it on my site. There was no formal instruction today as everybody was doing different things. This meant that I could focus all of my time on general store. I also worked on my total page..

July 31st, 2015

Today was the final day of Block 2! In engineering, we built boats out of supplies that we could buy. My group won a category in the competition. In the afternoon I worked on my General Store. I got a lot done, and connected different tabs to my store. You can view it through my site. I hope to finish the store next block.

July 30th, 2015

Today we worked on circuits with Ron. We built a circuit that lit a LED, and another one with a flashing LED. Then we got to keep our circuits. In the afternoon I continued my PHP projects by starting our final PHP project General Store. I worked hard but there is still lots more to do. Luckily, I can devote the entire next two weeks, and Friday to the project.

July 29th, 2015

Today we continued engineering with Caroline. We did work with marbles and ramps. Other than that, we worked with some programs to graph our results. Later in the day we worked with Miguel on AJAX. he gave us a mini-project which I completed. After that, I worked on a XML Blog. I am currently implementing CSS, but you can still view it on my site. I also had to leave a little bit early today since I had a doctors appointment.

July 28th, 2015

We continued our engineering competitions at Shodor today. Our task was to build a structure that was tall and could hold the most marbles. The number of inches and number of marbles were multiplied to give a total score. My group did not win, but placed third. In the afternoon we learned jQuery taught by Ishaan. We finished the day with a mini-project he gave us, that applied the concepts we had learned.

July 27th, 2015

We started our Engineering Workshop today at Shodor. We got to work with the center of balance with Caroline. Later the apprentices had a competition with some of the engineering we had learned. My partner Brendan and I won and got some candy as a prize. In the afternoon we learned JavaScript with Amal. I also was able to finish my Dynamic Pages PHP project. You can view it on my site.

July 24th, 2015

Today, we finished our project using Javascript. We presented our final project to Aaron, who seemed to like it. I also did not get a chance to work on cookies, but am almost finished with a different PHP project I started today. Also, we start engineering Monday. I can't wait.

July 23rd, 2015

Today, we continued our project using Javascript. I worked on putting in graphics and play, pause and stop buttons. We are almost done. In the afternoon, I finished a Random Hex Code PHP model. I am also almost finished with my Background Selector. I just have to add cookies which I hope to do tomorrow.

July 22nd, 2015

Today, we continued our project using Javascript. We were able to add smoother movement to all the characters. We were also able to get our characters to perform some of the required tasks. In the afternoon we listened to a presentation on classes from Amal. He then gave us an activity to do. At the very end of class, I worked on a PHP project. I hope to finish it tomorrow.

July 21st, 2015

Today, we continued our project using Javascript. I however, could only help during break. This is because I documented the Web Design class. In the afternoon, I completed a PHP project from Block 2. Since I am missing part of Block 4, I wanted to make-up some of the work now. Most of my afternoon was spent outlining our Javascript project.

July 20th, 2015

Today, we started a project using Javascript. My partners are Lyndon, Vincent, and Griffin. We finished our "Help File", which was approved by Aaron. We also started and are almost finished completing our outline which is due on Wednesday. In the afternoon, we reviewed some concepts with Ishaan, an Intern, and debugged a program for the rest of the day.

June 26th, 2015

Today, I worked on my website. I started off the day making an extremely cool drop-down menu. Check it out! I worked on making my website more aesthetically appealing. It was originally a bunch of gaudy colors that did not go together, but using hex codes, I was able to make a nice blue theme. Towards the end, I started working on Art Walk, which is an AgentSheets project.

June 25th, 2015

Today, I finished my HLD for my website. It got approved by Keith, an intern. I then started on a new website. I made the header, footer, menu, body, and CSS for my new website. I also made a button that changes the color of my name font, and my background. I am currently working on making my Navigation Menu across the top.

June 24th, 2015

I finished uploading my designs in GIMP and Inkscape to my website. You can view them in my portfolio. I also made my web banner in GIMP. You can view that on my home page. In addition, I got part of my portfolio to change colors every time you reload it. I hope to finish my HLD tomorrow, and add stuff to my website.

June 23rd, 2015

Today I finished up my tutorials, worked on photoshopping Phil, and work on an HLD. The HLD is for a new website that we will be creating in place of our old website. We will photoshop Phil to get a better hang of Gimp and Inkscape. The tutorials were for learning about Gimp and Inkscape.

June 22nd, 2015

I started off my morning documenting the advanced concepts class. Then I made a logo that you can see at the top of my site. I helped Michael make his too. Today was a less stress day since Phil was teaching, but I still got work done. I hope to add more stuff to my website soon.

June 19th, 2015

Today I finished up my HLD and sent it to Phil. After that I made Pac-Man, and I am happy to say that it works. I worked very hard and the Pac-Man game is near impossible, but I can say without a doubt that I am happy I did it. I hope I can add more features later in summer.

June 18th, 2015

I presented my project today. Amal, Jack, and Phil enjoyed it. I added a user controlled Aaron, who moves around and basically dominates my color world. Aaron liked that part too. I had to leave early today, but tomorrow, I will make another HLD for another problem, and build a pac-man game. I think I utilized my time well, and I can't wait to build a pac-man game.

June 17th, 2015

Today was our third day back in Shodor. We continued our project from yesterday. I finished my project and started working on extra stuff, namely making a celebrity. I ran into some problems with trends but I got help and eventually fixed it. Trends in my model is the idea that when a certain color's popularity reaches above 80%, it stops being as popular. Overall, I hope I will finish the celebrity tomorrow.

June 16th, 2015

Today was our second day back in Shodor. We continued our project from yesterday. Today, we actually started coding. I started off my day documenting the Web Design class. This meant that I would take pctures of the class from 9-12 and then write a report on what the class was about. After lunch, I started the real coding. I worked a lot, and finished quite a bit of my project. Inn fact, I project I will be done by the end of tommorrow or early Thursday.

June 15th, 2015

Today was our first day back in Shodor. We learned about what we will be doing this summer, and how we will help out. We started a project about using an HLD to code on either Agentsheets or code using JavaScript. Today we just made an HLD which we will trade with someone else when the coding part starts. I turned in my HLD to Amal who s checks our HLD's to make sure everything is good. I will probably use Agentsheets to code whatever scenerio I get since I am very comfortable with Agentsheets. My HLD was about Fashionista Phil and how he tries to keep up with thelatest fasion trends.

April 18th, 2015

Today, we learned about "C" and its uses. I was able to create a program about pi, radius, and area, using the knowledge absorbed today. Aaron and Mobeen taught the class and helped me learn things about computer programming in general. I heard about summer workshops and cannot wait to get that part of Shodor started.

April 11, 2015

I learned about Parallel Programming today with Aaron and Mobeen. I also made a model using Virtual Box. Overall it was a good day. Today was weird because Shodor only lasted three hours due to school. Still, I feel like I made the most of my time, and learned a lot. Finally, my Virtual Box model will help me for next time, when we will build off our model.

March 27, 2015

Today was my makeup day from the group project. I met with Phil and we finished up my project. Also, I presented my project and it seemed to go pretty well. In addition, I discovered more about operators and their uses. I also learned how to find averages using JavaScript. Overall, it was a pretty good day, and I learned a lot.

March 14, 2015

Today we continued our group project. My partners (Michael and Irene) and I got a lot of work done. We did face a lot of obstacles, but were able to overcome them. I will not be able to come next week (I have school), but I am confident that Irene and Michael will finish and have a great presentation. I think I will present our project on the 27th.

March 7, 2015

Today we started our group project. My partners are Michael and Irene. We were able to get in a lot of work, and I predict we will be able to finish next Shodor. I was also able to debug our program since there was a problem. Overall, I would say its been a productive day. The project was to add to a program that built off the project we did last time. The difference was that this time, we used JavaScript to model and not AgentSheets or VenSim. I think our project is going to go well.

Feb. 21, 2015

Today we made a couple more programs with Phil and Aaron. I learned a lot about loops and functions. I was also able to incorporate "if" and "then" statements into my code which was fun because it was the first time I had the opportunity to do so. My favorite part was doing the Bouncing Particles program because I was able to make my own "adjustments" to the program which made it unique and my own.

Feb. 7, 2015

Today was our first day back from break. We learned about JavaScript with Phil and Aaron. A the start of class, we made a model about bouncing particles. It was pretty fun. I also put my model in my portfolio on my website. Later in the day, we did some coding with Phil. We worked with a variable we called myVar, and used it in some arithmetic operations. Finally, we learned a little bit about JavaScript uses through making models with Phil. They were all pretty easy.

Dec. 13, 2015

Today was our final day to work on the project. It was also our last day ever in 2014! Aneesha and I finished, and so did Megan. Everybody also presented today. I thought my group's presentation went fairly well. I thought my group explained what we did in a thorough manner. I enjoyed the project overall. I guess I will see my fellow peers in February.

Dec. 6, 2014

I missed Shodor today. However, Aneesha and I met up on Friday to get our work done. We finished Model two of our project, and got some work done on model 3. I think we will finish tomorrow. Also, today I finished my Website.

Nov. 22, 2014

Today we started on our group project! I have Megan and Aneesha in my group. Our project is to work in our groups to make different models based on fish. Megan is doing the model on VenSim while Aneesha and I tackle the AgentSheets models. We got a lot of work done today. Also, I had my first meeting with Phil, and I would say that it went pretty well.

Nov. 15th, 2014

Today we did more system based modeling with Phil. We did some more modeling with our VenSim project from last time, and were also introduced to AgentSheets. I really like AgentSheets because you can do a lot more things with it, than you can with VenSim. Finally, we learned about our upcoming project.

Nov. 8th, 2014

Today we made system based models. We also learned commands on Terminal, which I had never worked with, ever before. Phil also gave us a puzzle/ mini-project on VenSim having to do with infection rates, death, and immunity. I worked with Herjot, and we completed the project after a little while.

Nov. 1st, 2014

Today we learned more about html. Specifically, we learned more commands with Mobeen and Aaron. It was pretty fun. I also learned about different programming languages. The commands I learned were rm, which can also be very destructive, uname -n, ssh, and scp.

Oct. 18th, 2014

Today I made my first model. We started of today learning what a model was and pretty soon we were making all kinds of models. We made a model on microsoft excel and just learned more about microsoft excel. Finally, we learned commands such as pwd and cd. Also, we learned about UNIX and GNU (GNU Not Unix).

Oct. 11th, 2014

I missed Shodor today, but made it up later. I worked with Dr. Panoff to figure out how we knew a source was reliable. He showed me how to figure out if a source was reliable by looking at that source's source. Dr. Panoff also showed me how to check sources, through a "mass of mars" example.

Oct. 4th, 2014

Today was the first day at Shodor. I met my mentor, Phil, and made my mailbox. I also learned about locations in the office such as the bathroom, where to find people, and general places we can, and cannot go. Ron also gave us a presentation on office ethics which was prety cool. I learned a lot. I also met my fellow apprentices, and I am excited to work with them in the future.
