Fractional Dimension

Objective: This section is designed to teach students about how to calculate the dimension of a fractal. To do this, students will need to know about scale factor and the number of copies for fractals.

Explorations questions for students:

1. Can you come up with a definition for scale factor?


2. Can you come up with a definition for number of copies?


3. Can you draw any conclusions about fractals that have dimension closer to 1? closer to 2?
