As class started today the studnets went upstairs, where Bob2 explained what Computational Science and aerodynamics are. The students seem to grasp the concepts nicely. The students were then shown a model of a wind tunnel and were taught how to calculate the turbulance and wind speed. The excercise exhibited the way the Wright brothers created their plane and became the first in flight. The students also built their own model airfoils that they had the opprotunity to put to the test in the windtunnel.

After the break the students came downstairs and spent time trying to make an airfoil model using computers and a program called simfoil. The students seem to enjoy the program, once they got the hang of the program they tried to make their model do different things by changing many differnet variables. The studnets seemed to pick up on the fact that it demonstrated the same ideas as the physical model only it was on the computer.
