Application

This applet numerically solves Legendre's Equation. (Description from MathWorld.)

Algorithm

An Euler's method integration is used from x = 0.995 to x = -0.995. The solution is not solved up to the singularity at x = -1, but by looking at the solution near x = -1, one can see whether or not the solution seems to be approaching a finite value. This model was created in a model building environment which does not allow for a negative step in the integration, so the graph will appear backward.

Architecture

The solution was solved in Stella, and converted to a Java Applet using Stella2Java.
