Module One:

What We Did In Class Today

When class first started we set up our password, then we went in to our email and we also did some other things. We also learned the html basics. I found it very interesting. And so far I have a nice little web page set up. So my first day at Shodor was cool. I enjoyed the day.

Math and Science

I am doing well in both my math and science class. In my math class I have a B. In my science class I have an A. I like math it is my favorite subject this year I am doing Geo. I like science it is my second favorite subject this year I am doing Earth Science.

Interest and Activities In School

My Interest are playing football, soccer, tennis, track, baseball, and basketball. My activities in school are running track. I will be playing football and tennis for the school next year. I am also involved in a lot of extra curricular activities at school like salsa dancing, YLI, 21 century, and I work in the school store.

What have I learned so far

I have learned how to use a lot of different programs such as Inkscape, Gimp Shop, and the CSS program.

Inkscape

I liked using this program. It includes some geometric designs. You are able to create any letter or figure and manipulate it till you get the type of shape that you are looking for.

Gimp Shop

Gimp Shop is also a cool program it is very similar to Photo shop. In Gimp shop you are able to change the of the picture, copy a picture and draw it next to its self.

CSS

CSS is also know as Cascading Style Sheets. Without CSS you wouldn't be able to make your page designs. For example you could change the text color, make the links react to the mouse (get bigger, change color, blink etc.). If you want to grasp other peoples attention then you should learn how to use CSS.

Module Two:

Agent Sheets

In agent sheets we ran a simulation that allows you to make people, and a clock that basically clicks to their death. Later we introduced a virus that was contagious amongst the people and it started to kill them off quicker, we also had people that were immune to the virus, and people that carried the cure to it. The people with a the antidote would give it to the infected, and the people the were immune just survived longer.

Net Logo

Net logo is a very similar program to Agent sheets you are basically just doing the same thing except there is more coding, and instead of there being people (agents) they are called turtles, and they basically do the same thing get sick, immune to the virus, cure, and die.

Module Three:

Excel 4/25/08

Today in class we learned how to use codes for excel to plot a chart. We also learned how to make a slide bar that would effect to graph and make the lines move either up or down.
