Population of China With and Without the One Child Policy

Overview

Model Description

Our project models the effect of the one child policy on the Chinese population starting from 2017. For both the system model and the agent model, you will see three stages of the model. The first stage simply shows the growth in population when the people are allowed to have as many children as they want. The second stage shows the effect on the population when there is a competition for resources and food. The third stage is when we see a big difference. In this stage, the one child policy is in affect which only allows each family unit to have one child. By adding each of these factors, we not only make our models more realistic, but we also introduce a major component and factor of the current Chinese population.
