I used these graphic programs to edit pictures and make logos for this website. I have used many tools in Gimpshop. Some of those tools were blurring the image, editing the image, and croping the image and many more tools. In Inkscape I have used all the tools. The most useful tool in Inkscape is the square tool and the beizer tool. I am pretty familiar with those tools.
I built this resume page as well as my porfolio page by using web deisgn. The bulk of this page is made out of HTML. The styling which consists of background colors, fonts, colors, headers, lists and many more features. All of these styles were made using CSS, or cascading Style Sheets. I have used PHP before but noton this page.
I have done computational modeling at the Shodor Education Foundation. I have used four modeling programs, Excel, Vensim, AgentSheets and Netlogo. Modeling in Excel was new to me, but I am know familiar with it. Vensim is a modeling that uses variables and rates. There arent any graphics in Vensim, only boxes and arrows. Netlogo uses programming and has a graphical interface. In Netlogo you can do almost anything. One of the projects I have done in NetLogo is a model on reproduction. The model is in my website under Netlogo. The other program I have used is called AgentSheets. AgentSheets has all graphical interface. The programming is graphical and the actual model is also graphical. I have posted the Agentsheets model in my portfolio under the AgentSheets link.
I have taken a course in system administration. I am familiar with Unix commands that I run on MAC OS X and Linux. I am familiar with moving around, cd, ls and more of the basics. I am familiar in reading man pages. I have also done a little more complex commands such as wget, yum, rpm, tar and many more I am extremely familiar with vi.
In programming, I have worked with Java. I modified a Shodor Interactivate applet. I added a button and some text canvases. I pretty familiar with the basics of Java.
I am really familiar with databases. I have worked with databases in the past on multiple projects. I have used the databases with PHP. All the commands were in SQL.
