What this Website is

During my time as an apprentice, I came into Shodor for the first three Saturday's of every month during the school year and for 6 weeks broken up into 3 two week blocks during the summer. This website is my portfolio of everything I have learned and completed at Shodor as an apprentice and beyond.

I personally programmed and customized this website myself using CSS3 and HTML5. I have also put an easter egg somewhere on this website for anybody to find.

Hint: You must be using a desktop to find it

About Me

My name is Ronith Gonsalves, and I am currently a junior at Green Hope High School in Cary, North Carolina. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. My personality type is an INTJ (Architect). This means I am extremely hard working and competitive and this allows me to be the best at anything I put my mind to. I will often work on projects for hours without stopping not because I have to, but because I want to. I am also very open-minded and I am open to a challenge. Because of this I have dabbled in many activities and on account of my competitiveness, I have been able to achieve success in most things I try. This can be my weakness too. I am always wary of committing myself to too many things so that I will not overwhelm myself.

I am also a very active person. I love going on runs in parks and on trails during my free time. I have also played a variety of sports from basketball to ping-pong to running cross country for school. But by favorite sport to play is soccer. I started playing soccer when I was 5 years old and it was my first passion. Today, I still play soccer and I am the captain of my team. At school, I am in a club called DECA. I have qualified for the international competition 2 years in a row in an event where I had to make business model and a pitch which I presented to a judge. I am also on our school’s robotics team and we have qualified for the World competition 2 years in a row too. Some other clubs and organizations I am part of at school include: National Technical Honors Society, where I am the Vice President of Communications, and Student Council.

Some of my hobbies are playing guitar, going camping, building things, playing sports, and volunteering. I volunteer at the local Food Bank, Miracle League, and The Brown Bag Ministry. Volunteering has humbled me and made me realize how lucky I am to have a home and be healthy. But my favorite thing to do is to travel. I am very lucky to have traveled to 5 of the continents. I love travelling because I love being immersed in different cultures eat different foods, and soak up the history of the area. Whenever me and my family travel, we opt out of the normal tourist attraction to live like the local people of the area. I enjoy this because instead of experiencing a fake environment we get to find small niches in different parts of the world. We get to eat real local food and understand how people in different parts of the world live.
