This is the HLD document that I created for my Food Chain Model. In this document, you will find information on the requirements for each model, and the story behind the Food Chain Model.

Vensim Model

This is a Vensim Model which shows the interaction between organisms of a food chain. In this food chain there are leaves, caterpillars, birds, and snakes. There are also factors which affect the population of each organism like birth rate fractions, death rate fractions, and rainfall. The arrows point from one variable to the next, to show how one organism affects the other. In addition, the Vensim model shows three tables that represent the population of two individual organisms. I added a fourth table, so that the user would be able to compare all of the organism populations.

Vensim Food Chain Model

AgentCubes Model

This is an Agent Cubes model which shows the same food chain model, but in a more visual way. In AgentCubes, you will be able to see the organisms moving around and interacting with each other. The rainfall agent makes the leaf agents grow by creating a new leaf agent each time that they come close to each other. The caterpillar agents feed off of the leaf agents by erasing the leaf agents each time they get close.The caterpillar agents feed off of the leaf agents by erasing the leaf agents each time they get close. The bird agent feeds off of the caterpillar, and the snake agent feeds off of the bird agent in the same way.
