What did you learn today or this week what you're most excited about?

The changes in 10.7 Lion from Snow Leopard such as the about this Mac area changes. The Touchpad scrolling is now inverted. I learned how to use umount and eject the live cd of BCCD when packing up the laptops so it saved us a step of restarting, ejecting then shutting down it seems like the compiler and man pages are stored on the live cd of BCCD and the rest of the OS is loaded into ram. Learned that the command shutdown options -r and -h are like using reboot(-r) or halt(-h). I found out about the asr commands for building the image via firewire target mode.

What did you do that you are most proud of?

Helped setup the laptops, switches, and troubleshoot some of the issues we were having with BCCD. Learned and helped setup the phones in the offices. I cleaned the spam tickets from the Webmaster queue. I helped setup the fax machine. I was happy to finsh the staff images of Lion I uploaded the image to login. Organized the power strips, power adapters, and ethernet cords into the storage closet. I sorted the software we received for Autodesk, Maya and find if we could use them. Autodesk is 3D modeling creation software for Windows only so if possible donate. I placed Autodesk in storage closet in intern lab. Maya is 3D modeling software as well but works on Windows, Linux, and Mac 10.4 or later so I set them aside for possible use. Organized the Shelves for the bookcases by shipping tag for the hallway.

What have you heard about that you are hoping to learn more of?

While doing the imaging Izzie found the security flaw with the key chain in Lion while using LDAP you could login even if a password is set for that user. Researching for fix not much information on possible fixes yet. Rob showed me the doodle pad app which looked interesting. The app would plot the X and Y cords of your drawing in separate boxes so you could ask students to estimate the drawing then plot X nd Y before you draw or vice versa.

Who did you help? How did you help them?

I helped Kyle with a issue of a directory of jpgs not displaying properly on his website. At first thought it might have been a permissions issue though after creating a new directory, dropping the jpgs into the new directory and linking it in the HTML it displayed fine. Helped setup a 8 laptops in a cluster for Aaron for BCCD each with 2 processing cores so we could run up to 16 cores testing.
