- In assisting with the SSP Workshop, I did research for data sets to show linear regression, wrote a troubleshooting worksheet for the workshop students with Katherine, and helped the workshops students while Bethany taught a lesson on Linear Regression.
- For four-weeks on every Tuesday, I helped with the Apprentice Math class. I helped Deb write a lesson on setting up and solving equations and I helped teach that same lesson.
- I am teaching a day of the Environmental Science Workshop with Katherine and I am teaching a day in the Math Explorations Workshop, assisting the rest of the week.
- I taught a lesson during the Math Exploration Workshop (July 16 - 20) on Transformations and Tessellations. I first went over three ways to transform a shape: reflection, rotation, and translation. I pulled a lot of information from the discussions and lessons on Interactivate for Transformations.
- Also during the Math Explorations Workshop, Katherine taught a lesson on Probability, which I assisted her with before the workshop and during the workshop.
- During the Environmental Science Workshop (July 23 - 27), Katherine and I are teaching a lesson on Deforestation and Carbon footprinting on Wednesday. We will be taking the class outside to measure the diameter of trees found in Durham Central Park and plugging it in to determine the amount of carbon emitted by that tree. Also, a guest speaker from the Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association will be coming in to give a brief introduction to what we will be teaching the following day.
- On Thursday of this workshop, Katherine and I will be teaching again on watersheds, water runoff, and water quality. A guest speaker from the Eno River Association will be coming to talk to the class about indicators of water quality and the aspects of water runoff.
