My name is Jasmine Foust. I am a sophomore at Jordan High School. This is my second year at Shodor. I heard about the apprenticeship program when I came to one of the workshops. I put in an application and I was accepted. My first year at Shodor was filled with learning. During the school year I took classes twice a month. I found the classes to be very helpful. It made completing projects for school easier and more fun. Over the course of those classes we were tested on our math skills also. I found that to be even more helpful to see where I stood in a higher level of math. By the end of the Beginners course I knew how to create interactive models using a number of different programs, build a website from scratch using HTML and CSS, along with a number of other trades. This year I got to have hands on experience with actual clients. I got the opportunity to create websites for people. All long the way I leaned new trades such as PHP. I used my knowledge from the previous year and the current course to advance my work even more. This year I worked with a group of four. We were given two clients and we had to build a website dealing with theyÕre research. We had to do research of our own also. It has been a great experience. This program has helped a lot and will help a lot in the future when I go off to college. After this course is over I plan to apply for an internship. After High school I plan to go to a university college and my major is not decided yet.
