Due at beginning of class is homework assignment #1: Find 4 examples of percents in the media and explain how the percent relates to a fraction. Should be about 3-4 sentences per example.

• On a notecard, write a real-world problem that uses division and solve it. Do not use division by 2. Turn this in.

Homework: Provide three examples of percent decrease and / or percent increase in a real world context. Each example should contain the following information:

1. A description of the context
2. The original quantity before the increase / decrease
3. The percent of the increase or decrease
4. The amount after the increase or decrease
