My Opinion of the 1994 Italian World Cup Team

To start out, I think I should give credit where credit is due. Reberto Baggio rules the world. I know this is two years after the fact, but hey, better late than never, right? I'd have to assume that everyone in the world knows about the shoes Baggio endorses. If I'm not mistaken they're Diadoras. You can find them in the Eastbay catalog or at just about any decent store that sells soccer shoes. (I'm not sure about Foot Locker.)

As to the other people on the team, Baggio didn't go out and play by himself. Every man on that team played they're respective hearts out and did an incredible job. I hope to see them all back again playing for Italy in the next World Cup.

The last time Italy won was in 1982 (the year I was born) against Spain. They also won in 1934 and consecutively in 1938. The 1934 games to be played was only the second World Cup ever (they beat the U.S. that year 7-1). Italy came in second place in 1990 to Germany.

Back to Baggio. In Jan. 1996, FIFA voted him as the fifth best player in the world. He was born on Feb. 18, 1967 in Caldona, Italy. You may or may not know and it might shock you, but Reberto Baggio is a Buddhist. I suggest you and the rest of the world watch him in the 1998 World Cup. I'll even tell you his jersey number, it's 10.
