Predicting Lunar Eclipses

intro

ASL

A Lunar eclipse is a fun thing to watch. People have been watching them for thousands of years. The problem is they only last a few hours. They only happen a few times each year. If we don't know which night the eclipse will appear we could miss it. Work through this activity so you won't miss them.

These images are of a partial eclipse on July 28th, 1999. The eclipse was in the night sky over Melbourne, Australia. This eclipse lasted almost 3 hours.
