The signs LESS, UP, and DOWN are conceptually incorrect. The word "Steeper" is signed using the correct English sign but it doesn't fit the visual picture of steeper. **English word order does not help the students to visualize the setting and can cause confusion in their minds. If students can understand English print, they don't need the ASL. But, if they don't understand English print, using signed English will not help them understand the text any better.
