Today the class got an introduction to Inkscape. First, Joel talked about the difference between .png and .svg files. .png and .jpg files use pixels, but .svg files use vectors. Then the class used html and css to print a rectangle on the browser. Next, they started using Inkscape to copy logos. They also explored Inkscape by using layers, paths, Bezier curves, and other tools. They also worked on copying the Target logo and the Honda logo. The students also had time at the end of class to work on their own designs, and create their own logo.
